my 3rd motif blanket

Now I am done with my crochet blanket!

I started this one on a midspring day, which means these colors made quite good harmony with the weather, mood, and everything I can think of... but it looks so hot right now. It's over 35 degrees celsius(95F)in here, and I feel like being tortured in an oven. What is worse, the Meteorological Administration said the climate is changing to subtropic. WAO. I miss the cold freezing weather of Lapland.

Whatever, no matter how this boiling weather bothers me to kneel down desires toward crafty things, I still stick to crochet hook, patterned papers and sewing machine. so, comming up project will be... what would it be? :)

baby, smile!

My daughter loves to look when I work. Oneday she asked me "mommy, do you think I can draw a pretty flower like that?". She pointed at a little chipboard sticker. sure, why not? probabably you would draw a better one! guess what. She made a bunch of embellishments.
I begged her to share a piece. I didn't mean anything but she was so proud of that!

here it is!

I love washi tapes. I already have too many, but I bought some more just a minute before.

and added some journaling...

having fun?

you look so happy girls! great summer vacation for girls, and... and... off the record. I"m going crazy!!! OMG. House is messe up at every minutes. Everything I look for is disappeared. I never knew there was a black hole in my house. Only Sunnie, my 7 yrs old daughter is the one who thinks "we have to clean up the messes we made while we were playing,"
Sadly...
she spends most time to think so, not to clean up.

oragne + mint

I love color matches in this fabric. Bright orange color combined with emerald green in here punctured somewhere in my mind and said, MAKE some VITAMINE thing for yourself. These colors gave me a misson statement, or anything like that forces me to do it right away. I think that is an inspiration(or cousion of it, whatever).

Orange is such an energetic color, and it shows a variety of sentiments when matched with other colors. I took several minutes to decide what pattern could make a best combination with this color scheme and pattern. Light yellow, salmon pink, and dark orange mixed with vermillion were nominees, and DO with vermillion won!

I love to pinch his cheeks but he doesn't. :)

And these are apron dresses I made for my girls for this day.

Machine stitches, sequins,
easy but great accents.

Last week I was on vacation and worried about what to do with delayed project life... One of my friend gave me a quite practical advice, which was "JUST FORGET ABOUT IT!". Thank you, Jina. Now I'm following your advice. :D

project life - week 2

hard. project life is a whole different project from 12*12 scrapbook. It is a struggle with photos, papers, and everything.

My second daughter loves to draw. She brings me a bunch of drawings, and tiny handmade cards all the time while she is awake. so, here is one of them. And they are really good to use here @ projectlife!

This is the result I've come up with. Hope that I could enjoy the whole process...

something I adore,

It is easy to love and adore somebody's style, but it is really hard to pursue and express it because style is a matter of who I am, what I like, and how I think. Because I am kinda person who wants everything's to be clear and lucid, I love contrast. Contrasts of colors, shapes, images, and etc. I am displaying part of my personality through everything I do. That's why I easily attracted to the style locating at the opposite pole from me. (I usally get attracted those not like me...)

And when I saw such warm and soft designs from several galleries (remind me of cotton candies), I was filled with some sort of desire and inspiration to make one of my own.

I cut a doily paper into pieces, then put them inbetween the layers. and the Amy Tangerine stickers well matched with watercolored background.

When I finished with it, I felt it is not done for some reason, so I started doodling to make a border with a pencil.

Well... I think I've done it anyhow. Maybe I have to practice more to be comfy with this subtle  style since I'm not that gentle. :D

struggling with gold

I bought this gold foiled paper few years ago, perhaps 7 or 8. It has such an outstanding gold colored border, and bold as well, which makes it hard to make a harmony with other color or pattern. So it has been kept in my storage box quite for a long time.

Lately, I had found that I still have so many collections left from past seasons (as years go by). Yikes! What have I done so far? I keep buying (want to wrap my behavior with a good word COLLECTING, but I know what I really am doing is just like that of shopaholics) papers and stuffs, then what comes next? Stacking things up! Oh my god. Everything's going to fall soon.

So? Actually what happens is like this. When I saw the latest class video 'In the mood to scrapbook' of Wilna, and her challenge, my brain that works sometimes(most of the times he or she takes a break. Pity) rang a bell and said, BINGO! that' s it. Use gold? And a gold foiled paper in my work desk is still forcing me to use it! What else could I do besides work with it?
So here it is.
Because my daughters' Cinderella costumes add some sort of luxurious feel to the page,(yes I am casting a spell on me. Classic. Luxurious. NO old fashioned.) it gives a bit heavy feeling but anyway, I like it!

I made this big gold butterfly embellishment with chipboard, sticking crinkled tissue paper by gel medium. That's everything I did with this layout!
Now I try to get an assuarance from myself not to buy a whole bunch of collection from a season, to prevent my storage box from blowing out, but I cannot hear anything. ooooops.
